Our history

We're currently updating this section. Please check back soon!

NESA has a long history dating back to before 1969, quite some time before the English Ski Council (ESC), now Snowsport England, was formed. In the early years the association co-ordinated mainly alpine skiing and racing.

In the past NESA has been known as “The North of England Ski Association”, “The North East Ski Association” and more recently “The North East Snowsports Association”. The naming reflects the changing boundaries, defined by Snowsport England, and the inclusion of all Snowsport activities.
